Aviation Spotters is a youth mentorship program to introduce young people to the skills of photography in the realm of aviation. Combining the disciplines of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with Artistic critiques (a combination commonly called STEAM), we hope to introduce students to education and career paths leading towards aviation operations and regulation, and the important impacts photograph has in all levels of the aviation industry.
This program is an early pilot program in development by a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. David Riviera is finalizing a Master of Education in Youth Development Leadership. His father is a veteran Federal Aviation Administration Avionics Safety Inspector. David spends his free time at the airport as an aviation spotter, but has been around aviation his entire life.
If you are interested in contributing to the program, either as an advisory board member, youth mentor, or industry expert, please submit your contact information to be informed of program progress.
